The Kevin Connoley Show
Kevin Connoley is the host of WVAQ “Kevin Connoley Show.” He has been a part of Morgantown’s morning routine for most of the last 20 years, on WVAQ. Kevin first teamed with Eric McGuire from 1994 to 1999, and then returned to the station in 2004 to the “Eric and Kevin Show,” until Eric’s retirement in 2011. Since his return in 2004, Kevin’s show has been named “Best Morning Show” by the West Virginia Broadcasters Association six times. The WVBA named WVAQ “Best CHR Station” EVERY year since 2004, and the station has won multiple “Marconi” awards from the National Association of Broadcasters. In 2007 and 2009, WVAQ won the NAB’s “CHR Station of the Year,” and in 2012 it captured “Small Market Station of the Year.”
Originally from St. Louis, Missouri, Kevin is West Virginian by choice. He graduated from Northwestern University, and fruitlessly roots for the Wildcats, but his favorite team is still the St. Louis Cardinals. He has become a big Mountaineer fan, and in order to legitimize his rooting, plans to start law school at WVU in 2015.
In his free time, Kevin likes to watch TV. His favorite shows include Breaking Bad, Game of Thrones, The Wire, The Walking Dead, and anything else pretentious critics claim is great. I’m looking at you, Mad Men.
But Kevin’s favorite hobby is golf. If you take nothing else from reading this bio, take this: Please invite Kevin to play golf. Free golf would be even better.
Kevin lives in the Cheat Lake area with his wife Jennifer and their three children, who ensure he never gets enough sleep.
A final note: Kevin was absolutely flabbergasted when he was told that this bio needed to be at least 300 words. This sentence makes 295.
And this one makes 300.
